Alerts!: Research While You Sleep

Would you like to be notified when new materials for your project are published? This guide will help you set up research alerts.  You'll get an email whenever new materials meet your search requirements.  Choose to receive alerts daily/weekly/monthly and turn them on/off whenever you want.

Create an alert in EBSCOhost

Here's how to set up an alert for EBSCOhost

1 - Click on "Sign In" to create an account. 
     Use any username/password you like; you do not have to use GCMC email.


2 - Create your search, using dates and other ways to limit your results
      (full-text, scholarly journals ...)            
      When you are getting the results you find useful, click on Create Alert. 


3 - Fill out the form to create your alert. 
      You can create as many as you like.

Remember, when you receive your alerts, sign into GlobalNet first to get the links to work! 

Create an alert in ProQuest

Here's how to set up an alert for ProQuest

1 - Click on "Sign In" to create an account. 
     Use any username/password you like; you do not have to use GCMC email.

2 - Create your search, using dates & other limiters (full-text, scholarly journals, etc.)
      When you are getting useful results, click on Save Search/alert.

3 - Fill out the form to create your alert. 
     Choose how often you receive these emails & the length of time you would like to receive them. 
     You can create as many alerts as you like.
